Tell me more, tell me more!

Whew!  I think I could spend hours reading all your posts at...
I love learning all about my bloggy friends and finding some new ones as well!

I'm going to link up at
Mrs. Lemon's "Tell me more, tell me more!" Linky Party
... and if you haven't already, you should hop on over and do it!

Here's a bit about me...

1.  I have to have my alarm clock set at increments of 5 minutes... ex.  I will set the alarm for 6:15 AM, but I will not set it for 6:14 AM or 6:16 AM.  It would drive me nuts!!!!

2.  On a related note, my car radio has to be in increments of 5 or an even number!  My stereo could be at 12 or 15, but not 17 or 19.  Again, it would drive me nuts!!!

3.  Practically every night when I go to bed, I play Words with Friends on my NOOK, read my daily devotional, and peruse Pinterest/Facebook, and read a magazine/book before bed.  Pre-NOOK, I would just read and drive Hubs nuts with leaving the light on.

4.  I L-O-V-E to travel!  One summer, my hubs & I drove across country and explored Route 66... The Midwest, to the west coast and back!  It was the best!  We've also hit up the Caribbean, many major cities like Chicago, Nashville, as well as my childhood vacation spot... Hilton Head Island, SC!  Our next hopes for travel are... Washington D.C. (I've never been!), NYC (I've never been!), and Europe!!!

5.  I am an avid napper!

6. I love yoga!  I'm so happy to have started practicing, as well as sharing my love with my kinder kiddos!

7.  I prefer writing with black ink above all others!  I don't know what it is about black pens, but I love them. I always buy a new pack or two or three before school starts!

8.  My nieces and nephew like to make up knock-knock jokes about me!  LOL!  The punchlines often involve the word diarrhea.  That's what happens with a 10 year old, 7 year old, and 5 year old!

9.  Coffee is always essential.  I drink it every day in some way, shape, or form... iced, hot, with cream, without cream, sweetener, without, etc...

10.  I'm lucky enough to be married to my best friend!  My hubs is awesome, makes me laugh, plays guitar, takes care of me, tolerates my craziness, and is just all around the best!

Well, there it is.  10 random facts about me.  Link up and share a bit about yourself... you never know what you'll find out!

Pick a card! Any card!

I want to share about another prize in my...

Yoga 4 Classrooms is a wonderful organization that promotes positive, peaceful, and productive classrooms for all students! They have workshops, trainings, and fabulous activity cards to use in the classroom. In my kindergarten classroom, we use activity cards as a guide for group yoga...

But, then, after we've practiced together several times... the cards go in my Yoga Work Station where my kiddos can practice yoga poses independently!

The wonderful thing about Yoga 4 Classroom's Activity Deck is the use of yoga postures, brain boosting movements, breath exercises, visualizations, mindfulness activities, creative movement and community-building games to build well-being in the classroom.

I'm a huge supporter of scaffolding in my K classroom, and activity cards give my students a resource to refer to when working on their yoga practice independently!

And, I just absolutely love when they beg for a new pose to learn!  Just like with adults, kiddos have their favorite yoga poses as well!   (Pssst... they are OBSESSED with Tree Pose!)

So, make sure you've signed up for my 200 Follower Giveaway!  You could win your own deck of Yoga 4 Classrooms Activity Cards!

And, while you're here... link up with Yoga 4 Classrooms Website!

You've got to be kidding...

Kidding Around Yoga that is!
I want to share about these fabulous CDs, I use in my kindergarten classroom!  My students would plead, beg, whine ask to use some of their favorite songs in our whole group yoga practice.  (Which is typically after morning recess, before we start literacy work stations...)

The songs are child friendly, often story based, and promote body and mental awareness, as well as physical exercise!  All the songs are about feeling GOOD, which is essential as our kiddos are becoming more stressed with our increased academic expectations.  It's a not only a physical break for my kinder kiddos, yoga provides a mental break as well and helps students regain focus for their afternoon learning.

My students were OBSESSED with The Yoga Slide last year, which is featured on Namaste'n Play!  You can listen to a sample of it on Kidding Around Yoga's website!

To find out more about Kidding Around Yoga, link up at any and all of these places....

And, don't forget to sign up for a chance to win a set of Kidding Around Yoga's CDs at my 200 Follower Giveaway!  I have three sets to giveaway, so be ready to get your yoga on!

Wild Horses and a Swiffer Wet Jet!

I cleaned my humble abode today!
I cleaned my humble abode while listening to the Rolling Stones on my iPod.
Have you ever cleaned while listening to music on an iPod?

I was singing!  (I'm sure my neighbors were thrilled...)
I was dancing!  (Hooray for 12 years of dance lessons!)
I was cleaning... and not even really realizing I was cleaning.
Thus, I now have a super duper clean home, it smells divine.... like Comet & Swiffer Wet Jet solution...

Speaking of...
How did I survive years without the Swiffer Wet Jet?

My sister gave me her hand me down when the new model came out, and I L-O-V-E it!  I think I might take said Wet Jet to school and invest in the newer model for home.  Think about how easy it would be to mop up... red fruit punch (always red!), glitter, glue, paint, etc!!!

Also, I'm gearing up for the big giveaway... check out who's sharing the love this time...
Not only do I have fabulous bloggy buddies sharing resources, I have CD's from Kidding Around Yoga, and Activity Cards from Yoga 4 Classrooms!  I also have some Jamberry Nails to giveaway and maybe a few gift cards too!

Keep your eyes peeled for the kick-off... coming soon to a blog near you!

What do they use in that floor wax? Or, I went to my classroom today!

This may be, officially, the earliest I've ever gone into my classroom...
Please mark this date, July 16, 2012 as an important date in history because of it!

All kidding aside, we DID move buildings.  I have a NEW classroom.  And, well...
I felt motivated.  I felt motivated to move furniture.

I realize I should have taken pictures of my room... pre-dragging moving furniture across the newly waxed floors... but then, that would have required more strength than I had remaining after yanking, pulling, shoving moving stuck chairs from my floor.  What do they use in that wax?  That combines with heat and humidity?  That makes it like super glue?  Please tell me someone else can relate?

I will take pictures once I have things put away, and I start the decorating process.  All things in good time.  Plus, I think I changed my mind on the color scheme, so who knows!

Heads up giveaway hunters...  I have one coming up ASAP!

This one is loaded with TpT goodies from your favorite friends, children's yoga CD's from Kidding Around Yoga, and much more!  So keep your eyes peeled... it's a-comin'!

Happy Monday!

Saturday Style!

I posted a few times about those fabulous, fun, and ferociously sturdy Jamberry Nails I have fallen in love with!

Well, I'm having a catalog party and closing it tomorrow on July 15th at 11:59 PM.  I wanted to give my stylish teaching buddies a chance to order.

Check out Jamberry Nails here...

If you'd like to place an order, please go to... Jamberry Nails Online Ordering to place an order.  You can put it with my catalog party by choosing Kim Davis at the end! :)

My toes have had the nail shields on since June 21st and haven't chipped or peeled at all.  My fingernails have had them for a week... I moved boxes and cleaned... not a lift or tear anywhere! :)

They are a teacher's dream... think of picking paper off the crayon or glue of the glue bottle! :)

Happy Saturday, my stylish friends! :)

Freebie Friday or "I made my coffee too strong!"

I've been MIA since Monday.  Here's why...

Tuesday was my 8th wedding anniversary!
Here's to 80 more years with the hubs!

Wednesday was pick out my dad's headstone and go through his stuff day.
While it was a tough day, I have so many family treasures sitting in boxes in my dining room right now.... Letters from my great grandmother to my grandfather while he was away at college in the 1930's, my grandfather's college diploma, family photos from the 30's to today...   I'm very lucky to have all this family history to sift through, scan, and archive!

Yesterday, well, yesterday day was recover from Wednesday Day!  LOL!  And, we had dinner with friends who recently moved back to town.

Today, well, as stated in the title, I definitely (per usual) made my coffee too strong!
**jitter, jitter, twinge**
And, I'm reposting a freebie from Monday and linking up with...

You can find it here...

Okay, I'm going to go harness some of this caffeine buzz and get my sight word unit finished, do some laundry, and well, who knows what else!

Hope you're having a fabulous Friday!
